We believe that career education is essential to Oregon’s and the Northwest Region’s economy and that our schools make an enormously positive contribution allowing thousands of graduates to enter the job market with the valuable skills and education and training attained from attending our member schools.

How we make a difference

NWCC-OR provides a range of valuable services, including:

  • Advocacy in Oregon state and federal government for private career colleges and schools.
  • Programs to enhance the delivery of career education.
  • Professional Growth opportunities for member staff, faculty and leaders.
  • Media and member outreach to increase awareness of the issues affecting career education.

NWCC-OR works closely with the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC), the Oregon state legislature, government officials and regulatory agencies to advocate for support and development of the state’s private career colleges and schools and the students who attend them. 

NWCC-OR has staff, access to legislative lobbyists and a proactive board of directors working to ensure that private career colleges are recognized as an essential component of higher education.

NWCC-OR helps the Oregon career colleges and schools achieve continuing educational excellence.

NWCC-OR is dedicated to promoting career education in Oregon through:

  • Enhancing the awareness, understanding and responsiveness among the leadership of our membership to engage in state and federal initiatives that are affecting career colleges.
  • Delivering critical information to members and key target audiences.
  • Providing opportunity to strengthen educational performance and market demand for graduates by providing professional development programs and resources.
  • Promoting private career colleges as vital partners in providing educational and career opportunities for a highly competitive economy.
